The North London Jazz Workshop
The North London Jazz Work Shop is a practical performance focused jazz workshop which Dina runs together with Joe Bickerstaff. It demonstrates techniques and theory to develop your individual instrumental and vocal skills. Experience working as a musical unit by arranging and working with a band.
It’s designed for vocalists with some jazz experience who want an in depth exploration of lyrics, phrasing, technique and improvisation. We will also cover the basics of how to create lead sheets and simple arrangements when working with a band.
The course welcomes guitarists, pianists, bass players and drummers with some jazz experience who want to develop and improve their harmonic understanding, chord voicings, accompanying and performance skills.
The emphasis of the course is very practical, so be prepared for lots of playing! We are going to explore rhythm, time & feel and working as a musical unit in various jazz styles.
